We would like to acknowledge the past, present and future generations of the Dharug people, who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet.

Everyday when we come to school, we can appreciate the beautiful bushland and native animals that the Dharug traditional ways preserved for us, and as students, we hope to preserve this land for future generations.

Arcadia Public School Acknowledgment of Country by our students

Warami Ngani, (Hello, how are you?) I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the original people of this land; elders past, present and emerging. This land belongs to the Dharug people and connects us to their history and into the future. We are grateful to be amongst this amazing landscape with its gifts of plentiful bushland, rugged mountains, flowing rivers and countless native wildlife both big and small. We promise to respect and take care of the land on which we learn, play and grow each and every day, welcome to this amazing place known as Arcadia.

Mrs Crouch reading "Silly Birds" by Gregg Dreise in our Yarning Circle. An Aboriginal Dreaming story, Muliyan the eagle learns to look, listen, and see far into the distance. He ignores the foolish turkeys who never pay attention and only boast about themselves. Seeking guidance from the elders, Muliyan gains wisdom and then shares it with the younger birds.
