Super debaters – Arcadia PS Debating team versed Mt Kuring–gai PS in the second round debate of the local interschool competition and were successful in there debate. Thank you to Mr Codling for not only coaching our teams but also organising the whole local interschool competition. Best of luck Arcadia PS!

And talking of public speaking ….. congratulations to Noah, Aurora, Amelie and Sophie who represented their school at the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition District Final on Monday, 2 July, 2018 at Cherrybrook Public School. They not only presented their prepared speech in front of a large audience, they had 5 minutes to prepare and then present an impromptu speech on a topic given to them at the final. And guess who won!!! Yes our fabulous students shone with Sophie being recognised for the best prepared speech and Amelie winning the whole Year 5 and Year 6 competition! What an outstanding achievement!!  Our students versed schools who have up to 1000 enrolments. Amelie will now go onto a regional final.

Public speaking builds the ability to confidently negotiate and communicate while developing skills in motivating and persuading others. We believe that learning effective communication skills helps our students navigate the world and build a strong foundation for their future.

Arcadia Public School provides quality public speaking opportunities for our students. We proudly participate in the District Inter School Debating Competition with our school teams regularly achieving excellent results.

Every student in the school participates in the Educational Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition at  Local and Regional levels. Our strong links with Galston HS  sees members of their English Faculty tutoring our students in key aspects of public speaking such as body language, articulation, eye contact and volume.
